Theology is Locked

Our theology cannot be changed, it is based on the Bible.

So you could say our theology is locked, but methods can be changed.  Look in the four Gospels and the book of Acts how God used different methods to connect with different situations.  Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John did not use the same words or prayer in the many situations.  The Holy Spirit in the book of Acts (written by Luke) did everything in a different way, but always exalting Jesus and the Gospel.

Hearing God’s Word in Psalm 119

Verse 25, “My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.” The word, “quicken” means to give life or to raise from the dead. That means the Word gives us life. That always reminds me of Hebrews 4:12 where it says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” This verse says that the Word of God is living. In other words, there is life in the Word of God.

We continue on to verse 74, “They that fear thee will be glad when they see me; because I have hoped in thy word.” There is hope in the Word of God.
Verse 76, “Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.” This means there is mercy, kindness, and comfort in the Word of God.

Verse 81, “My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.” Again the Word gives us hope, and it gives us salvation. Verse 82, “My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.” In other words, we are expecting comfort from the Word of God.

Verse 89, “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” In other words, in the heavenlies there is no problem with the Word of God, but on the earth there is some problem. That’s why the Lord Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven“, indicating that in Heaven there is no problem with the Word of God. Yet, Jesus taught us to pray to bring the will of God from the heavens to the earth.

Ok, so yesterday, one mile from the trailhead, as I am walking back to my car, I turned around and observed a large very black moose up the side of the hill. He was staring me in the face.  I was going to change lenses on my camera, but decided to quickly get out of there.  On the way back I met some other hikers, so I brought them back to the moose spot. As we turned the corner in the canyon, there is the moose, in the middle of the dirt road, looking straight at the three of us.   I quicky put the telephoto lens on my camera and hid behind the other hikers and quickly took two pictures.  Then I said “Bye” and headed down the trail! I just did not want to have to hide behind a tree as one is supposed to do when charged by a moose.  One of the hikers was an experienced moose hunter! So did not feel bad leaving. We were near the Little Spokane River north of Spokane.
