Morning Scripture Verse – Revelation Chapter 1

Our uplifting encouraging morning scripture verse is from Revelation Chapter 1.

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things written in it; for the time is near.  Scripture verse 8, I am the Alpha and the Omega, saith [the] Lord God, he who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.   This Bible verse indicates God is eternal, without beginning and without end.

Prayer or Bible Study

Which is more important, your left foot or your right foot. There may be some debate on this, but I personally prefer BOTH. So with my time, is it prayer or Bible Study or teaching or preaching or writing or coordinating? And the winner is, we need all of them. Just like my body as Paul talked about in First Corithians, we need all the members and we need all the functions in the body of Christ.

Psalms 69:29-30
But I am poor and sorrowful;
Let Your salvation, O God, set me up on high.
30 I will praise the name of God with a song,
And will magnify Him with thanksgiving.

Life and Peace

In Romans chapter 8 we come to a great verse on life and peace. After Paul in Romans spends many chapters on God’s condemnation of sinful man, and the justification only available through what God did in Jesus, we now come to chapter eight, a chapter about living in the Spirit. No matter what man could do to rescue himself, only God’s work could do this. Man with his great desire to please God, just cannot satisfy God’s requirement. Only the work that Jesus did on the cross could satisfy what God requires.

So in Romans chapter eight we come to: Romans 8:6  For the mind set on the flesh is death; but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. This means to walk in the Spirit by following the Lord brings peace in our life. So peace comes by walking with the Lord.

Theology is Locked

Our theology cannot be changed, it is based on the Bible.

So you could say our theology is locked, but methods can be changed.  Look in the four Gospels and the book of Acts how God used different methods to connect with different situations.  Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John did not use the same words or prayer in the many situations.  The Holy Spirit in the book of Acts (written by Luke) did everything in a different way, but always exalting Jesus and the Gospel.

God in a Box

Well, sorry, but God cannot be put in a box.

Mankind cannot make a box big enough for God.  After all, God created the universe including electrons, protons, atoms, molcules, and energy of all different kinds. He created the universe, the solar system, our galaxy and the earth. So could man build a box big enough for God? God created mankind. God created the heavens and the earth.

Now, history shows all kinds of events where man has tried to limit God, put Him in a box, and try to control nature. Even human beings do not get to choose when they are born or when they die. We do not get to choose our parents and which century we are born into.

The Bible is full of people who have tried to put God in a box. People have their view and image of God, but God is God. The best way to learn about God is to read the Bible.

God is 100 percent sovereign which means He is in control. So it only makes sense to cooperate with Him.

Faith is not God on our schedule, it is trusting till God decides.

Jerusalem, Israel, is very special place to God.

Jerusalem is mentioned almost 800 times in the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments. In the Old Testament Abraham offered Isaac on Mount Moriah, the site which today is known as the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

David reigned from Jerusalem and spoke often of it. In the New Testament Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was in Jerusalem many times and spoke of it. The major writers of the New Testament including Peter, Paul, and John spoke of Jerusalem.
