Encouragement

God Hears Prayer

Look at these verses on prayer in the Bible, God listens to every prayer.  Have this confidence that in every pray, whether it be small or large, whether it be well phrased, or just a bunch of broken words, God listens.  Sometimes what we think are the worst prayers, God just loves, since we are expressing our real feelings.

Psalms 66:19 But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.

Psalms 66:20 Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, Nor His mercy from me!

James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. 17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly…

This  last verse in James eventually refers to Elijah who in a very unique situation needed a prayer to bring God in to vindicate Himself.   Elijah did pray and God did come in.

So never feel that God does not hear, He does hear and answer.   p.s.  answers do not always come how and when we expect them.

The Spirit is Our Personal Prayer Helper

Look at Romans 8:27 And He who searches the hearts knows the Spirit’s mind-set, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

The Spirit is our prayer helper, sometime we just need to pray, but what are the words, what is the burden.  Well the Spirit knows.  This is of great encouragement for us mortal fallen human beings.

Pray when the Spirit is Praying

Its great to get prayer encouragement from others who have gone before, especially in the matter of prayer.

“Oh, will you pray? Stop now and pray, lest desire turn to feeling and feeling evaporate.” from Amy Carmichael.

Great quote, so what happens when we don’t pray, its seems the burden seems to disappear.  Sometimes it comes back, sometime it does not.  So we must pray when the Spirit gives us that little push from inside.

Prayer – Keep Praying, Your in a Race

The prayer race is not done till the burden is released.  Sometimes this is an answer, sometimes an inward feeling God is taking care of this situation.  But the last prayer is necessary, so don’t give up.

Notice Galatians 6:9 So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up.

So keep praying, your in a race and prize is obtained when you finish the race.  1 Corinthian 9:24  Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain.

In its the last lap or last mile that hurts, but that brings us to the finish line.

Encouragement when we do not see God

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’    This means we should be encouraged even when we do not see God in our daily environment.  God is there, He will strengthen and hold us up.

We sometimes rely upon our feelings to indicate God’s presence, but our feeling are many times not accurate.  The one sure way is to trust by faith in what God says in His Word.   All that counts is what God says, not what our feeling feel.  We may feel up or feel down, but regardless God is there and we know by faith that He answers prayer.
